You will find nine songs on this happy sounding album. Songs that perfectly match the cover artwork and the album title. Songs like "Joy Spring" and "Smile" just to name a few. The album "Smile" was recorded at the SWF Studios in Baden-Baden during summer and winter of 1987. One of ther last albums that was releases originally on vinyl.

The subtitle says it all really. This whole album is a sweet homage to the sound of swinging Jazz. Ten classics aranged by Peter Herbolzheimer and played insanley tight by Rhythm Combination and Brass. Outstanding and timeless classics like "Take The A Train" and "Mood Indigo" mixed up by Herbolzheimer compositions are painting a colourful picture here.

Straight classics on this album back from 1984. You will find Jazz standards like "Round Midnight" and also Herbolzheimer cvery own ompositions. Lots of brass and the typical warm sound of Herbolzheimer´s trombone play.

For his 20th year anniversary with the Rhythm Combination and Brass, Peter Herbolzheimer lays down a perfect blend of Jazz classics plus some of his own compositions. Freshly arranged songs by Miles Davis, Chick Corea, Dizzy Gillespie and Brazilian composer and singer Edu Lobo are teaming up with Herbolzheimer songs as the classics "Sally O" and "Just Like That".

The last album of this foursome series is featuring the title track "Close to You" by living legend Burt Bacharach as well as rare pearls like the German "Haben Sie Schon Mal Im Dunkeln Geküsst". And as usually it contains some compositions by Peter Herbolzheimer.
